John Pope

John Pope joined the Dukeries Singers as Musical Director in July 2024, having previously been Musical Director of Grantham Singers. For twelve years John was Musical Director of Grantham Operatic Society. He has been Organist at Wellow Church since 2009 and prior to that was Organist at Edwinstowe Church for thirty years. He sings with Newstead Abbey Singers,  a group he joined in 1989.

His approach to the Dukeries Singers is that people should enjoy singing with others and a wide ranging repertoire ensures there is music for everyone.
